Neddy seems to have a very infantile mentality and is easily frightened, especially by the presence of other people or creatures or even funny looking plants, to a near-crippling degree. Princess Bubblegum successfully brought him back home. He had presumably lived there in peace before the King of Ooo disturbed him, causing Neddy to run away in a panic. Princess Bubblegum has built a safe place for Neddy deep within the Candy Kingdom, where he sits alone and content in sucking on the candy tree roots and producing copious amounts of candy juice, which the Candy Kingdom uses for bathing and for its healing properties. He eventually finds comfort in sucking the nutrients from a candy tree, which then causes him to excrete candy juice. While Princess Bubblegum explored, Neddy terrifyingly screamed through a path filled with sticks and twigs. Neddy was born seconds after his sister and he fell onto a sharp rock shortly after, causing him to scream in pain and run away. When Princess Bubblegum was born, she gently fell into a puddle of water. Like Bonnibel, Neddy emerged from the Mother Gum or "the gum hive". He also has multiple small flabs around his body, which is where the candy juice comes out of him when suckles on the candy tree root.īoth in his infant and current age that Neddy is born with an upside down head, which surprisingly, given that the candy tree roots are now above him, helps him continuously suckle on the candy tree root without stopping temporarily to rest. He has small bat-like wings that are capable of flight, despite being small for his body size and he has a long tail.
In his current age, however, Neddy has become a Gum Dragon, unlike Bonnibel who grew up into a Gum Person. When he was an infant, Neddy was a worm-like creature. Like Princess Bubblegum, Neddy’s entire body is made of gum.
